I began my working life as a town planner which I enjoyed for many years before venturing overseas. I resumed town planning when I returned to New Zealand but one day I found myself in the clinic of a Naturopath - experiencing signs of burnout. During this period of working with the Naturopath, my fascination for the body and mind was ignited and I literally woke up one morning knowing that I was to train in holistic medicine. The adventure had begun!
I feel very fortunate to have found my path. Empowering others to live a happier, healthier life is what I am here to do.
I live on a two acre bush property on the Pouakai ranges where I live as simply and sustainably as I can. The property is off the grid. I utilise hydro and solar power. As well as a conventional oven, I have an outdoor earth oven which allows me to cook over a live flame. I have an outdoor bath which is also heated by fire. My garden is organic. I grow as much edible produce as I can. This kind of living allows me to stay very connected to nature which is an important aspect of achieving holistic health. It is possible and vitally important for us all to connect to nature frequently - whether it be through a herb garden or earth/pizza oven in your backyard, through an outdoor hobby or exercise regime, sitting in the sun at lunchtime or having some pot plants at your place of work. If you would like to explore your own possibilities of living closer to nature, you are welcome to visit my property for some inspiration.
